Preventive care - Diagnodent
The diagnodent is a new tool in the measuring and monitoring the decay process on the visible tooth surfaces. Not all discolorations on the teeth are decay, the diagnodent makes the detection of the decay process far more reliable and recordable.
It is a laser that scores
bacterial activity in the teeth. It produces a repeatable score of 1-99 that can be used to determine suitable treatment options.
Generally a low score below 10 requires no treatment.
Between 10-20 would require considering further preventive measures and monitoring.
Over 20 would require minimal intervention measures involving Healozone.
Over 40 more routine treatments should be considered.
However, these are dependant on the age of the patient, as well as taking into account all other diagnostic procedures as well as the individual’s needs.
