Preventative measures
Preventative dentistry involves keeping the teeth, gums and surrounding areas clean and healthy and so preventating dental problems and disease.
A good tooth-brushing regime and a low sugar intake help to avoid the decaying process, whilst the use of fluoride in modern toothpastes and rinses helps strengthen teeth. Regular flossing helps prevent gum disease (the most common cause of bad breath).
The sooner we catch potential problems the easier and cheaper they are to treat, therefore having regular check-ups with your dentist is highly recommended.
If you haven't already done so, talk to your dentist about joining one of our practice plans, they provide all the preventative care you need to keep your teeth and gums healthy and allow you to budget for the cost on a monthly basis.
These plans include for regular visits to our dental hygienist if required. She will give your teeth a thorough clean and polish, check your gums and show you how best to keep your mouth healthy.
